Vocational Skills Assessor – Barbering Specialism

Job description The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is now seeking a dynamic and inspiring Vocational Skills Assessor to assess learners on a variety of programmes across the School which may include Level 1, 2 and Level 3 in Barbering. Responsibilities You’ll undertake assessments in the College salons and other practical areas including online testing, providing prompt and constructive feedback to candidates after the assessment and ensuring that a professional image is portrayed at all times. You’ll support the teaching teams and learners to work professionally and develop and achieve commercial, employability, enterprise and workskills, while ensuring a strong client base in the Commercial salons and meeting income targets. Qualifications Professional qualifications with a reputed awarding body or recognised TDLB Assessor Awards (D32, D33) or TDLB new A1 Award for Assessors (or willing to work towards). Recent experience within the Barbering industry either through a professional development file (CPD) or recent salon experience as a commercial master barber. NVQ 2 and 3 Barbering Qualifications, ideally holding an IV Award and Health and Safety Qualifications for work‑based visits. Excellent communicator with good IT skills or willingness to gain these.
