Private Practice Firm – Building Surveyor (Glasgow) We are looking to recruit a Building Surveyor based in Glasgow to join a local private practice firm. Salary Negotiable & Competitive Responsibilities Perform Dilapidation Surveys, Schedules of Condition, Building Surveys, Specific Defect Analysis Reporting, and Maintenance Plans. Work on historic buildings and manage larger complex projects up to £10 million. Collaborate with contractors to review proposals and prepare Description of Works. Qualifications Broad surveying experience and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Degree level qualification in Surveying or a relevant discipline. Chartered status or willingness to work towards (MRICS preferred; MCABE, MCIOB, MICE, CEng, MIStructE also considered). Familiarity with building reinstatement works is beneficial but not required. Full UK driving licence. Thomas & Adamson – Senior Building Surveyor (Glasgow) We are now looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our team at Thomas & Adamson in Glasgow. Responsibilities Act as the interface for projects between the client, designers, and contractor. Inspect existing properties and develop scope, budget, and programmes. Liaise with clients to understand requirements and keep them appraised of activities. Provide guidance on procurement approaches and manage design/programme/ cost information. Develop tender documentation and specifications using NBS. Manage tender process, analyse returns, and prepare reports. Chair meetings, act as Contract Administrator, and process notices. Monitor site work quality and ensure contractor compliance. Represent Thomas & Adamson professionally at meetings. Survey Work Dilapidation, PPM, condition, schedule of condition, pre‑acquisition surveys. Provide clear reports and advise clients throughout the process. Coordinate and prepare reports for assigned projects. Provide cost advice when required. General Duties Oversee/review/approve sub‑consultant or junior staff work. Represent the firm responsibly and uphold quality and integrity. Report to clients and stakeholders in line with company standards. What We Need From You Chartered Building Surveyor. Knowledge of Health & Safety and Building Regulations. Contract Administration and Project Management skills. Experience with Dilapidations, Due Diligence Survey Work, Schedules of Condition, Planned Maintenance Inspections. Interest in construction technology. Proficiency in CAD with understanding of building standards. Track record of establishing good client relationships. Senior Building Surveyor – Confidential Role My client is a leading multidisciplinary consultancy seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor. What You'll Do Lead Building Surveying, Project Management, and Contract Administration commissions. Own client relationships; develop repeat business and support bids. Produce surveys, reports, specifications, drawings, and tender documentation. Undertake inspections, condition surveys, construction monitoring, and snagging. Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety, and Environmental procedures. Manage financial performance and invoicing via internal PM systems. What You'll Bring Chartered (MRICS or equivalent).
