Private Practice Firm – Building Surveyor (Glasgow) We are looking to recruit a Building Surveyor based in Glasgow to join a local private practice firm. Salary Negotiable & Competitive Responsibilities Perform Dilapidation Surveys, Schedules of Condition, Building Surveys, Specific Defect Analysis Reporting, and Maintenance Plans. Work on historic buildings and manage larger complex projects up to £10 million. Collaborate with contractors to review proposals and prepare Description of Works. Develop full Tender Documents and serve as Contract Administrator. Manage all reinstatement works on site and liaise with key stakeholders. Qualifications Broad surveying experience and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Degree level qualification in Surveying or a relevant discipline. Chartered status or willingness to work towards (MRICS preferred; MCABE, MCIOB, MICE, CEng, MIStructE also considered). Familiarity with building reinstatement works is beneficial but not required. Responsibilities Act as the interface for projects between the client, designers, and contractor. Inspect existing properties and develop scope, budget, and programmes. Liaise with clients to understand requirements and keep them appraised of activities. Provide guidance on procurement approaches and manage design/programme/ cost information. Develop tender documentation and specifications using NBS. Manage tender process, analyse returns, and prepare reports. Chair meetings, act as Contract Administrator, and process notices.
