Ideal opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant looking for some additional work Location: Client’s home and local community in Weston Super Mare. Position Type: Part-time. Working Hours: The client’s family are happy to discuss hours that work for them, their child and the successful candidate. They feel they will require up to 18 hours per week. Flexible and fluid schedule is open. About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker/SEN TA to provide buddy support for a bright and spirited 12-year-old boy with a hypoxic brain injury living in Weston-Super-Mare. He is non‑verbal but communicates confidently using Makaton and AAC. He loves engaging in a variety of fun activities such as: Arcades & soft play Bowling & cinema trips (he loves dancing in the aisles) Horse riding Bang racing with his dad Outdoor adventures in local parks You’ll be working closely with a warm, loving family who are passionate about providing the best opportunities for their son. What We’re Looking For NVQ in Care Experience working with children who have a brain injury and Special Educational Needs (SEN) A personality that is energetic, outgoing, confident, and playful. Knowledge of Makaton would be useful but training can be provided Experience with epilepsy is strongly recommended Flexibility in working hours, particularly during half‑term periods. Confidence around animals (the family has dogs, horses, rabbits) A nurturing and flexible approach to care Ideal for those working or seeking experience in SEN school environments.
