A leading construction consultancy in Manchester is seeking a full‑time Senior Building Surveyor to enhance their expanding team. This role will primarily focus on projects based in Manchester and the surrounding areas. The position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, providing essential support to the Surveying team on various projects, particularly in the commercial sector. Key Responsibilities Inspect and advise on the design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment of all building types. Conduct acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys, and defect investigations. Prepare detailed reports, schedules of work, and specifications. Design and oversee works in accordance with established building contracts and current technical standards. Manage large-scale projects independently, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of professional consultancy services. Apply relevant legislation, including health & safety, party wall, building regulations, and planning. Actively promote the company's services to secure new projects and enhance the brand presence. Support and supervise APC candidates to foster their professional development. Ensure compliance with all company administrative and health & safety procedures. Candidate Profile MRICS accreditation or a desire to achieve it. Extensive experience in consulting engineering, surveying, architecture, and planning, with a strong understanding of statutory requirements and technical publications. Proficiency in defect diagnosis and report writing. Experience with insurance repair projects is advantageous. Background in negotiation and leadership roles. Proven ability to manage deadlines and budgets on large projects. Familiarity with CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall legislation, and Building Regulations. Strong mathematical, scientific, and IT skills, with a methodical approach to problem‑solving. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Flexible attitude toward work types. Benefits The salary on offer will be between £45k - £55k depending on experience.
