HGV CLASS 1 SHUNTER DRIVER People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established logistics client based in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire .Increase your chances of reaching the interview stage by reading the complete job description and applying promptly.This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent pay, ongoing work, and genuine career progression within a respected and supportive transport operation.Shifts: • Monday to Sunday • Start times between 19:00 – 07:00 Rates of Pay: • Competitive hourly rate Benefits: • Excellent hourly rates • Consistent, ongoing work • Weekly pay • Immediate starts available • Full training provided • Supportive and friendly transport team • Career development opportunities Day-to-Day Duties: • Shunting 45ft trailers safely to and from allocated bays within the yard • Operating a tug unit and Class 1 vehicles in line with company and safety standards • Carrying out daily yard checks in compliance with site rules and Health & Safety procedures • Ensuring all loads are secured correctly before movement • Covering trunking routes when required • Completing all necessary paperwork and vehicle checks accurately • Adhering to all transport regulations and traffic laws • Communicating effectively with transport, warehouse, and yard teams via radio Essential Skills: • Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence • Minimum of 2 years' experience driving and shunting Class 1 vehicles • Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Cards • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements (no IN, DR, DD, or CD codes) • Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Ability to operate efficiently in a busy yard and warehouse environment Desirable Experience: • Previous experience in a logistics or distribution yard Training Provided: • Full induction and paid driver assessment prior to starting • Ongoing training and support throughout your assignment Apply Today: If you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity as an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver , apply today by clicking the link below or contact our recruitment team for more information. xsabvtc People Solutions do not charge any of their candidates any fees or request deposits at any stage of the recruitment process.
