We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed Clinical Pharmacist to join the Kent and Medway Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS). This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of patient‑centred care within the community. Role Overview The successful candidate will lead the medication‑related aspects of care within CYPMHS, providing expert medicines information, education and training, and group and one‑to‑one support for children and young people. The role will also contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols and work closely with Consultant Psychiatrists and Non‑Medical Prescribers to promote safe, effective, and cost‑efficient prescribing. Key Responsibilities Provide a high‑quality clinical pharmacy service within CYPMHS, optimising patient outcomes and enhancing patient experience. Contribute to improved health outcomes by taking a holistic approach to care and ensuring the safe, effective use of medicines within CYPMHS. Engage directly with children, young people, and their families, ensuring their views inform decisions about their care. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, supporting children and young people in community settings and, occasionally, in inpatient units across the Trust. Deliver education and training to staff and service users, and offer both group and one‑to‑one support. Collaborate with Consultant Psychiatrists, Non‑Medical Prescribers and the wider Trust Pharmacy Team, including community lead pharmacists. Qualifications & Experience Independent prescribing qualification (or working towards one). Postgraduate qualification in pharmacy. Experience in mental health pharmacy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, young people and families. Commitment to patient‑centred care and continuous professional development.
