Environmental Advisor Join VolkerStevin, part of the VolkerWessels UK Group, to help shape the environmental and sustainability future of our business. Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full‑time Job function Management and Manufacturing Industries Civil Engineering and Construction Overview As an Environmental Advisor you will deliver independent environmental and sustainability support across a variety of projects. You will work closely with the Head of Sustainability, site teams and client stakeholders to ensure compliance, risk minimisation, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Ensure allocated sites comply with environmental legislation, company and client requirements. Minimise risks of potential breaches and support the site teams and business. Audit and inspect projects on a regular basis. Promote environmental awareness through training, briefings, poster campaigns and other communication methods. Encourage a reduction in carbon emissions on projects and across the company. Plan and provide training to site teams and other interested parties. Hold internal and external meetings as required. Undertake incident investigations and draft action plans and reports for senior management. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and client representatives. Work effectively with regulators and third parties. Collaborate with other environmental team members. Champion new sustainability initiatives and promote the VolkerStevin safety behavioural programme. Actively embrace change and help others adapt to new ideas and innovations. Support other duties as required. About You Good working knowledge of environmental legislation and its application within engineering and construction. Experience in the wastewater industry is advantageous. Professional environmental qualification (e.g., PISEF or similar) is preferred. Willingness to travel, spend nights away, and hold a full driving licence. Flexible with working location – regular visibility on sites and in the office is important.
