Deputy General Manager

Base Pay Range [Base pay information – to be provided by recruiter] Job Purpose The Deputy Manager supports the manager in overseeing day‑to‑day store operations, ensuring sales targets are met and delivering a high standard of customer service. The role involves leading and developing the team, managing stock and store presentation, and handling key responsibilities such as staff scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and overall store operations when the manager is absent. Key Responsibilities Assist the manager in achieving sales and profit targets. Manage a team of supervisors, ensuring they are motivated and equipped to lead their individual teams. Supervise, motivate, and lead the sales team to deliver excellent customer service. Maintain store appearance, visual merchandising, and stock levels according to guidelines. Handle staffing matters, including scheduling, shift management, and training of new employees. Control inventory, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing loss. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues efficiently. Monitor and report on store performance and staff productivity. Support the manager with HR issues within the store. Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and emergency procedures. Assist with administrative tasks such as financial reporting and policy updates. Qualifications Previous experience in retail management or supervisory role. Strong leadership and people‑management skills. Proven ability to drive sales and meet performance targets. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in stock management and retail operations. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
