Bank Medical Locum Doctor FY2 - ST3+ North Middlesex 3 days ago – Be among the first 25 applicants Job Summary – We are looking to recruit caring, professional, suitably qualified Doctors to work across all grades and specialties on a bank basis. You must have at least 6 months experience in an NHS setting to join our bank. VISA SPONSORSHIP DOES NOT APPLY TO THIS ROLE. We are keen to grow our existing team of bank doctors and are looking for doctors on an 'as and when' basis across, but not limited to, the following specialties: Anaesthetics General Medicine Obstetrics & Gynaecology Orthopaedics Paediatrics General Surgery Main Duties of the Job Work across all grades and specialties for shifts ranging from single to extended posts, including evening, weekend and on‑call shifts. Provide safe care by liaising between nurses, other clinicians, patients, and relatives. Attend and participate in board rounds, ward rounds and other daily unit activities. Provide appropriate workplace supervision to other staff as required. Maintain high standards of professionalism, especially in relation to documentation. Arrive on time for the shift and be available from the arranged start time. Co‑operate with the workforce deployment team regarding shift administration. Attend local induction when working in new areas. Comply with all local policies and uphold the Trust’s values and behaviours. Full registration with the GMC is required and you must achieve the appropriate level of competencies for the role. Details Date posted: 02 September 2025 Pay scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff Grade: Foundation Doctor Salary: £30 per hour (Hourly) Contract: Bank Working pattern: Flexible working Reference number: 391-3759-BANK Job locations: North Middlesex, London, NW3 2QG Person Specification Essential Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values MBBS or equivalent medical qualification Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies at time of appointment, including good clinical care, maintaining good medical practice, good relationships and communication with patients, good working relationships with colleagues, good teaching and training, professional behaviour and probity, delivery of good acute clinical care Eligibility to work in the UK Fit to practice safely Skills Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English with overall IELTS score of 8 or completed medical training in English Capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge & judgement and prioritise clinical need Appropriate technical competence with potential to develop strong/complex clinical/diagnostic skills (e.g., CPR, infection control, physical examination, history-taking) Understanding of audit, research and evidence‑based practice and potential to contribute to research Capacity to monitor and anticipate rapidly changing situations Effective and sensitive communication with others, able to discuss treatment options in understandable terms Effective multidisciplinary teamwork and leadership capacity when appropriate Good working relationships with others Analytical and flexible thinking beyond the obvious Problem‑solving approaches and operating effectively under pressure while remaining objective Aware of own limitations and when to seek help Time management and prioritisation of workload, balancing urgent and important demands, following instructions Understanding of information systems importance and impact Desirable Aptitude for practical skills such as hand‑eye coordination, dexterity, visuospatial awareness Attendance at relevant courses such as ALS, ALERTS or equivalent Evidence of academic and research achievements (degrees, prizes, awards, publications, presentations) Active participation in audit, teaching, risk management and/or clinical/laboratory research #J-18808-Ljbffr
