Job overviewWe are looking for a motivated and flexible occupational therapist to join an exciting cross trust rotation in West London covering community rehabilitation, inpatient rehab, rapid response, mental health inpatient and community, neuro, home first, discharge hub and wheelchair services. This is an ideal opportunity for new graduates, those who are qualifying in the next 3 months or current Band 5 occupational therapists looking to build on their experience within a supportive, friendly environment.
Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapists receive regular supervision with senior clinicians, monthly band 5 Preceptorship meetings, monthly OT meetings, and rotation-specific training as part of the band 5 competency program.
Main duties of the jobEach rotation is for 6 months; however, the post holder may be required to rotate at an earlier or later date depending on service need. Responsibilities include managing own caseload, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions using evidence-based/best practice, working towards patient-centred goals in the context of the speciality and as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Person specificationQualifications- Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC Registration
- Application of OT process and core OT skills including functional assessment and activity analysis
- Multidisciplinary team working
- Experience of working / student placements in a mental health and physical setting
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development including reflective practice and Clinical Learning
- Experience of working / student placement in a Social Care or 3rd Sector setting
- Involvement in research and clinical audit
- Knowledge of different clinical conditions in mental health and physical settings
- Awareness of evidence-based practice and knowledge of research methodology
- Working knowledge of models of practice, and current best practice
- Knowledge of national policies for Equality and diversity and inclusion and the implementation in practice
- Understanding of professional ethics boundaries within client centred approach
- Basic understanding of clinical governance and experience of quality issues and audit
- Relevant current legislation, including NICE guidelines, clinical/environmental risk assessment and risk management relevant to rotation areas

- Good organisational ability: self-management, flexible approach and use of initiative
