Job Summary We are a forward‑thinking and progressive PCN in the Lake District looking to recruit a PCN Administrator to cover maternity leave for twelve months. The role is based at Maryport Health Services, Castlegate and Derwent Surgery. The vacancy is advertised with a view to a successful candidate starting in January‑2026 to allow for a crossover with the current postholder. The advert may close early if sufficient applications have been received. Although the position is fixed‑term, the practices would be prepared to offer a permanent role post‑maternity leave at either or both Practices. Key Responsibilities Attend meetings, take minutes and report back to the PCN Board. Assist with PCN finances – ARRS claims, remittances, PCSE statements and liaise with practices to ensure proper processing. Support data analysis: run Excel searches, collate results, import Ardens searches to EMIS, update and upload to Ardens Manager. Support PCN marketing, digital transformation projects, extended access monitoring and preparation of PCN reports and submissions. Provide general administration: filing, photocopying, maintaining tidy admin room, risk‑free environment and patient confidentiality. Communicate effectively with team members, patients and carers, and adapt communication to individual needs. Prioritise duties, meet deadlines and work under direct supervision of the PCN Digital Transformation and Ops Lead. Complete mandatory training, adhere to practice policies and participate in annual performance reviews. Person Specification Qualifications Minimum 3 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) – Essential. Business Administration NVQ Level 2 or above – Desirable. Experience Experience working in a busy administration environment – Essential. Minute‑taking experience – Essential. Previous experience in a general practice environment – Desirable. Knowledge & Skills Independent and team working ability, attention to detail, good numerical skills, strong communication skills. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet – Essential. ECDL or equivalent IT qualification, knowledge of EMIS Web and Ardens – Desirable. Personal Attributes Enthusiastic, motivated, flexible with working hours and willing to learn.
