Domiciliary Optometrist – IWC Independent Worldwide Consolidators SpA Role PurposeAre you ready to hit the road and make a real difference? As a Domiciliary Optometrist you’ll bring expert eye care directly to people who cannot visit our stores, delivering vital services right to their homes. You’ll help customers with essential tasks, improving the lives of people in County Durham and surrounding towns (Darlington, Middlesborough, Durham, Sunderland, Gateshead). Key Responsibilities Conduct sight tests for patients unable to visit high street practices, working autonomously to deliver patient‑focused eye care (up to 10 per day) Provide guidance on eye health, eyewear options and frame selection Communicate test results and recommendations to patients and their families when necessary Support a wider team of Optometrists, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing Work closely with Optical Assistants to provide clinical support and advice Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of examinations and treatments Stay updated with advancements in optometry practices and technologies The Ideal Candidate GOC qualified (or expecting to register in the coming months). Previous domiciliary work is welcome but not essential.
