Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will play a key role in driving market share and revenue growth for the Business and Economics portfolio across Higher Education institutions in the South West of England. You'll work closely with academic stakeholders to understand and respond to the evolving needs of educators and students, while supporting the transition from print to digital learning resources.Academic Consultant: Key responsibilitiesImplement the account strategy to support the adoption of digital and print learning resources within Higher Education institutions in the assigned territoryIdentify and prioritise relevant modules and academic programmes within target institutionsCollaborate with Module Leaders, Course Directors, and Heads of Department to understand needs and recommend suitable solutionsSupport the transition from print-based resources to digital formats in line with institutional goalsEnsure timely provision and setup of digital products in line with teaching timelinesPromote the effective use of digital tools, aiming to enhance student engagement and manage print resource usageContribute to the consistent development of accounts through relationship-building and responsive supportUse sales and market data to help prioritise planning and activities across the account teamPrepare clear and accurate proposals tailored to academic and module-specific requirementsParticipate in discussions and agreements that support the adoption of suitable resourcesProvide product demonstrations aligned with teaching and learning objectivesMaintain up-to-date records of all activity, contacts, and opportunities using the CRM systemApply CRM insights to guide planning, prioritisation, and forecastingProvide regular updates and reports to the Regional Sales Manager and relevant stakeholdersWork collaboratively with colleagues and departments to build lasting adoption of resources across institutions.Academic Consultant: Skills/experienceEducated to degree level or with equivalent experience (preferred), with a focus on achieving performance objectivesDemonstrated success in delivering outcomes within a target-driven or competitive environmentProactive and goal-oriented, with a strong focus on meeting client needsExcellent organisational, planning, and time-management skillsEffective communicator with strong interpersonal and negotiation abilitiesAdaptable and flexible, working well in team environments and aligned with organisational valuesSkilled in consultative selling, presenting ideas, and supporting informed decision-makingComfortable learning and applying new technologies, with experience in both digital and print formatsAble to deliver clear and engaging presentations tailored to varied audiencesCapable of managing workload effectively during high-pressure or time-sensitive periods.As this is a field based role, the sales consultant will typically be out on campus visiting customers face to face for a minimum of 3 days per week.A competitive salary, car allowance, sales incentive plan, and excellent benefits package is offered.Seniority levelSeniority levelAssociateEmployment typeEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionJob functionSales and Business DevelopmentIndustriesTechnology, Information and Media, Staffing and Recruiting, and EducationReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Telfer Partners by 2xGet notified about new Salesperson jobs in South West, England, United Kingdom.We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
