Water Hygiene Engineer

Job Description Our client is a well‑established and successful water treatment/hygiene company, and they are currently looking to recruit an experienced and competent Water Hygiene Engineer/Remedial Plumber to work on a variety of contracts in the Manchester region. The ideal applicant will come from a strong water hygiene background with experience undertaking a variety of duties including TMV servicing, water sampling and temperature monitoring. The ideal applicant will also be a qualified plumber and hold experience undertaking remedial plumbing duties. Applications from Wigan, Oldham, Stockport and the surrounding areas will be considered. Qualifications & experience Extensive experience in carrying out water hygiene duties in line with ACOP L8 guidelines. Will ideally hold Plumbing qualifications NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent. Experience in delivering remedial plumbing duties to a varied site base. Must possess excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. Proficient IT skills including competency using MS Office. Postholder responsibilities Cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold water systems, cooling towers, etc. Carrying out analysis on closed systems and chemical dosing. Repair, replace and servicing of TMV’s, showerheads etc. Undertake temperature monitoring, conduct routine sampling and analysis of water systems. Comply with the current Health and Safety legislation. Maintain and install dosing systems, etc. Carry out any remedial legionella/plumbing work. Build and maintain a professional working relationship with clients. Attributes Ideally, the post holder will be a good team player with a positive work ethic.
