You would be working with a supportive, motivated and energetic team as we further our service development across Surrey Heartlands and Frimley South. We are seeking a psychologist who wants to make a difference by providing high quality NICE concordant Eating Disorder interventions to patients aged 18 years and over. You will need to be a Specialist Clinical Psychologist with a keen interest in supporting people with a range of eating disorders, with a particular focus on early intervention and prevention. This team is part of a wider transformation and expansion of the community-based Specialist mental health services set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. The post offers virtual working opportunities Main duties of the job As part of a small team, to contribute to delivering and co-developing the primary care Eating Disorder mental health service model and care pathways. To accept referrals direct from primary care and promote early assessment, treatment and ensure robust relationships and links with other community-based services. To work predominantly with adults (18+) with an Eating Disorder whose needs are best met within primary care and whose difficulties are best understood within a biopsychosocial model. To work closely with colleagues in specialist Adult Eating Disorder Services and Mental Health services to ensure smooth transitions between teams and services and facilitate an 'easy in, easy out' approach to improve access to evidence-based interventions Job Overview: To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services. To mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students Promoting a psychological perspective both within teams and sharing with other colleagues. Work collaboratively with team managers/ Clinical leads in the development and delivering of effective services. The postholder will be expected to work flexibly within the service. To lead on complex and challenging cases and develop expertise within area of specialism. Participating in the recruitment and selection of staff. Person Specification Experience Demonstrable post registration/clinical experience and competency relevant to this care group. Experience of providing a range of evidence based therapeutic interventions to people with eating disorders. Experience of contributing to clinical practice/service development / project work Experience of supervising assistant and trainee clinical psychologists Qualifications Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent Completion of an appropriate clinical supervision course to enable supervision of trainees (or completion within 12 months of commencement in post) Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
