Spinal Specialist Doctor at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) NHS Trust We are seeking a full-time Spinal Specialist to support existing consultants in the spinal surgery department for a fixed‑term appointment of 12 months renewable for a further 12 months subject to satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will work within the spinal unit to deliver excellent patient care and outcomes, achieve targets in outpatients, inpatients and waiting‑list reduction, and be part of the spinal on‑call emergency rota. Key responsibilities include: Participate in the spinal consultant on‑call rota, currently 1 in 8 frequency. Manage patients admitted under your care ranging from day cases to elective patients. Provision with consultant colleagues a comprehensive elective and emergency spinal service. Provide reciprocal cover for periods of leave. Maintain continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge and the proper functioning of the department. Fulfil duties within the agreed job plan and agree on any required alterations with colleagues and the Trust. Applicants must be spinal fellowship‑trained, fully registered with the GMC and on the GMC specialist register, or be within 6 months of attaining specialist registration at the time of interview.
