Heavy Plant Technician

Job Title Heavy Plant Fitter/Technician Location Based in Harworth, Doncaster, with sites across the Midlands and occasional travel to locations such as Anglesey. About Us VPH is a growing company specializing in the maintenance and management of a diverse fleet of construction machinery for our customers. We work with road sweepers, volumetric concrete trucks, excavators (from 50-ton down to mini excavators), bulldozers, ADTs, dump trucks, telehandlers, small plant machinery and crushers and screeners. Role Overview We are looking for a skilled Heavy Plant Fitter/Technician to join our team. This role is predominantly field-based, working out of a van and covering various customer sites. Key Responsibilities Perform day-to-day servicing and minor repairs, this could be anything from replacing a lightbulb to more major repairs. Conduct general inspections and annual inspections of equipment. Diagnose and resolve electrical issues and after-treatment system problems. Additional duties include servicing and maintaining a wide range of equipment, from small petrol engines and mini diggers to larger machinery. Maintain accurate records of all tasks and repairs performed. Demonstrate a can‑do attitude, open to tackling problems as they arise. Ensure strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language. Desired Skills and Qualifications Experience with JALTES diagnostics and/or other similar systems is preferred. Ability to fault‑find and handle electrical and after-treatment system issues. Welding and fabrication skills are advantageous. A full driving license is required. Salary is dependent on experience and will be discussed during the interview phase. This role suits someone with previous experience in the construction plant industry.
