Job summary Are you a skilled clinical psychologist passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with complex mental health challenges? Join our dynamic team and take on a pivotal role within our Rehabilitation Pathway, which comprises Willow Ward, inpatient rehab and the community Mental Health Rehabilitation Team, in Somerset. In this role you will be responsible for providing highly specialised clinical leadership across the rehabilitation services for service users with complex severe and enduring mental health difficulties across the pathway. You will coordinate and provide specialist assessment, formulation, consultation, training and supervision. As part of the leadership team, you will deliver clinical leadership when required and play a vital role in designing and shaping new services. Collaboration with senior staff in the Adult Psychology and Psychological Therapies Service will ensure the effective implementation of best practice. Main duties of the role Independently manage complex cases as an autonomous practitioner, applying guidelines, policies and research, and seeking consultation when needed. Support capacity monitoring and caseload management within the Rehabilitation Pathway to ensure efficiency and equitable access. Provide expert consultancy to staff and professionals on assessment, case formulation and interventions; deliver specialised psychological assessments and treatments; and participate in multidisciplinary discussions and planning. Deputise for senior colleagues as agreed. Identify training needs, contribute to the service’s development strategy and deliver teaching and training as required. Ensure teams have access to an evidence‑based framework for understanding and supporting clients with severe and enduring mental health difficulties through advice, consultation and dissemination of specialist knowledge. Qualifications Essential Doctoral Clinical Psychology qualification or equivalent level qualification in another psychological profession. Registration with the relevant provisional body such as the Health Professions Council. Desirable Relevant specialist CPD qualification (Diploma/Masters, e.g., specialist therapy training). Management training or qualification. Clinical supervision training. Experience Essential Significant specialist post‑qualification experience in the field of severe mental illness. Experience of work across service settings and agencies. Supervision experience with all grades of staff. Experience of service development/project work. Desirable Consultancy work in multi‑professional settings. Service development/project work. Research & Development work in a specialist area. Experience managing services. Additional criteria Essential Own transport available for work purposes. Full UK driving licence. Desirable Accreditation in NICE‑approved therapy, e.g., CBT or CAT. Significant experience and competence in neuropsychological assessment.
