About The Role As a Site Supervisor, you will: Be responsible for leading operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring seamless end‑to‑end management of all works while delivering an exceptional customer journey. You will ensure everyone within your team is performing their responsibilities. Carry out site inspections, coordinate the crews from your depot, manage fleet issues, and evaluate employee performance. Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree extent of works and maintain relationships throughout. Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally. Encourage and enable personal development of staff. Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers. Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in all civil works aspects of the contract, optimising resources with planning support. Manage the teams fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works. Produce method statements and procedures, read and interpret specifications, drawings and engineering documentation. Maintain records of all work completed, keeping client systems updated in real time. Command respect of the workforce and develop excellent working relationships with all department personnel as well as client management. Communicate confidently with internal and external clients. Give instructions efficiently to the workforce and responsibly manage daily team operations. Read and interpret drawings, shoring designs, excavations, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, and placement of pipe sections. Ensure work crews are supplied with tools, equipment, and materials; prevent wastage and misuse; supervise effective utilisation of manpower. Enforce all HS&E, quality procedures, regulations and strictly ensure safety at all stages of work to avoid incidents or accidents. Identify, formulate, and implement training programmes for the workforce. About You Possess previous experience of supervision within the Waste Water Industry. Hold a full UK driving licence. Previous managerial experience is essential. Excellent organisational, time‑management, and customer‑service skills. Strong leadership qualities; ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving targets. Proactive approach to problem‑solving with a focus on results. Proven experience in a previous Supervisor Role within the Utilities Sector – preferably in the Drainage Industry. Working Hours & Location Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week. Location: Rotherham and surrounding regional areas. Salary: £38,000 – £42,000. Company Car / Car allowance. 25 days holiday + Bank holidays. Why Join Lanes Group?
