In this hands‑on role, you’ll train and assess Engineering Apprentices, full‑cost learners, and full‑time students — playing a vital role in helping them progress confidently into employment and beyond.This is a unique opportunity to combine your technical expertise with a real sense of purpose, delivering high‑quality practical learning in a collaborative and supportive environment.Job Title: Assessor/Trainer in EngineeringAbout the RoleDeliver high‑impact training and assessment to a range of engineering learners.Support apprentices and students as they develop technical skills and industry knowledge.Maintain and manage engineering workshops to ensure they are safe, functional, and fully equipped.Collaborate with teaching and support staff to meet the diverse needs of learners.Essential QualificationsEducation to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalentMinimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalentAssessor/Verifier AwardsEssential ExperienceSignificant industrial experience in an engineering & manufacturing environment.All applications will be assessed against the stated essential requirements, so please ensure your CV clearly demonstrates how you meet them.Colchester Institute is firmly committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
