Job Overview As our Clinical Governance Lead at our hospital you will provide strong clinical leadership and scrutiny of all matters relating to the quality of all clinical care delivery. This role will work alongside Senior Clinical Leaders and key stakeholders across the organisation to facilitate clinical excellence, impact and fulfilment of Nuffield Health’s charitable purpose. Responsibilities Champion the organisation’s brand values. Drive continuous improvement of data quality and data analysis capabilities. Improve reporting and escalation processes (Board and Incident Reporting) to guide quality learning and decision‑making. Work alongside Senior Clinical and Medical Leaders to deliver Quality Assurance and improvement activity, including systems supporting clinical effectiveness, patient safety, regulatory compliance, customer feedback, and professional development. Lead the continued development, review, and oversight of Clinical Policies and SOPs, ensuring the clinical policy catalogue is effectively managed. Provide advice, guidance, and subject‑matter expertise on governance processes to all involved in leadership of clinical care, including dealing with complaints. Support the maintenance and achievement of clinical and/or organisational accreditation (ISO9001), contributing to and facilitating successful certification. Support the delivery and achievement of Nuffield Health’s Quality Improvement Plan, leading on clinical projects and workstreams within remit. Contribute towards strategic negotiations on all matters related to clinical governance and quality assurance, supporting the achievement of commercial objectives. Qualifications You will be a registered Clinician (NMC, HCPC or GPC) and be educated up to degree/post‑graduate level in a clinical discipline. You will also have the relevant qualifications in organisational governance, e.g., ISO9001 Auditor or equivalent. Furthermore, you are expected to demonstrate senior leadership within the healthcare sector, with significant experience in clinical governance and quality assurance. Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to work proactively and efficiently are required. Location Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital is located in the beautiful area of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. It has excellent transport links nearby, being very close to the M5 and A417. The hospital has 33 ensuite private bedrooms, 3 theatres and a small ambulatory unit. It also hosts a purpose‑built close observation unit, 12 consulting rooms with access to treatment rooms, diagnostic services including plain x‑ray, MRI, CT, mammography and ultrasound. We provide a full range of medical and surgical specialities delivered in state‑of‑the‑art clinical facilities, including orthopaedics, cosmetic surgery, spinal services, sports injury, ENT, gynaecology, urology, and a rapid access breast clinic.
