We’re seeking a proactive, adaptable, and committed professional who can work confidently both independently and as part of a team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in identifying, monitoring, and analysing asbestos to ensure the safety of buildings and the people who use them. Your expertise will support projects across diverse sectors, including defence, rail, roads, power stations, retail, heritage and service sectors, giving you the chance to make a real impact every day.The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to)You’ll carry out testing, inspection and reporting to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with SOCOTEC quality procedures and Health & Safety guidelinesConducting asbestos surveys, air sampling, fibre counting, and four-stage clearance testsMaintaining and calibrating equipment, ensuring a clean and safe working environmentRecording and issuing accurate analytical reportsLiaising with clients, project managers, and internal teams to deliver work to agreed timescalesIdentifying opportunities to support SOCOTEC’s wider servicesTo be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrateMust hold BOHS P403 and P404 qualifications (or RSPH Level 3 in Asbestos Air Monitoring)Industry experience essential with proven track record of conducting a similar roleHold a full UK driving licence and willingness to travelAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood client-facing skills – confident in liaising with contractors, project managers, and stakeholdersStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection/report writingTime management and ability to meet project deadlinesAbout AsbestosThe SOCOTEC Asbestos team holds UKAS accreditation for both Inspection and Testing and is one of the leading asbestos consultancies in the UK. We provide all aspects of asbestos consultancy services, ensuring clients are better equipped to comply with current legislation. These services include surveying, lab analysis of samples, managing removal projects on the clients’ behalf, consultancy, policy reviews, and action plans and Training. We operate out of six offices covering all areas of the UK and assist more than 300 clients on a variety of projects.
