Overview We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Powys to assist with the appointment of a HGV Technician on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Rate of Pay Rate of Pay: 14.63 - 18.61 per hour Responsibilities Carry out preventative maintenance inspections servicing fault diagnosis MOT preparation and parts replacement. Support the Fleet Operations Supervisor in delivering inspections and maintenance in line with DVSA and manufacturer standards. Maintain accurate digital records inspection sheets and service reports. Use diagnostic IT equipment to identify faults and carry out road tests (if licence permits). Provide out-of-hours support during winter and bank holidays as required. Promote safe working practices maintain workshop standards and mentor apprentices. Qualifications and Training Level 3 (QCF) qualification in repair / maintenance of vehicles or heavy plant or equivalent. Current IRTEC Advanced Technician licence OR DVSA Nominated Tester. Full valid Category B licence. Category C licence (or ability to attain within 2 years). Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence). Knowledge and Skills Strong knowledge of mechanical systems across a wide range of vehicles and plant. Understanding of health & safety in workshop environments. Experience using diagnostic equipment. Ability to work efficiently under pressure meet deadlines and stay organised. Essential Experience Heavy vehicle or heavy plant maintenance. Vehicle inspection to DVSA standards. Please note You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
