We undertake a range of services for clients including full-service actuarial consulting, investment consultancy and standalone projects such as mergers and acquisitions.We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consulting Actuary to join our team. This role can be based in our Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester or Glasgow office a hybrid working basis between home and office.The role is suitable for members of the actuarial team that are keen to pursue a consulting role and that have usually attained a Scheme Actuary certificate or act as lead consultant on some corporate projects. It may also include the role of a Team Leader, which involves working alongside others involved in Client Consulting, to ensure that all operational tasks within the team are conducted on a day to day basis and liaising with Partners to agree priorities. We offer excellent progression opportunities through to Partner.A snapshot of your day:Client Consulting; Acting as the main contact, providing advice for a range of clientsManage a client team, ensuring work is of a high quality and within agreed timescalesSupport Partners in managing client relationships, identifying any problems that arise (e.g. level of fees/ poor service) and helping resolve them as soon as possibleDesigning and managing surveys and using statistical techniques in order to analyse and interpret the quantitative data collectedAttend client meetings and identify ways that we can help our clients and report new initiativesUse of a variety of techniques and theoretical principles to establish probability and risk in respect of areas such as pensionsCheck work of other team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with scheme rules, procedures and legislationProvide advice to clients on how they might achieve their objectives while satisfying the requirements of relevant external parties (e.g. the Pensions Regulator)When leading the corporate accounting appointment actively look for opportunities to support the company with other relevant BW servicesOften this role will include working toward/developing own portfolio of Scheme Actuary/Adviser appointments or Corporate appointmentsGive external talks as and when requiredIdentify ways that the firm (including other practice areas) can help our clients and report new initiatives to either the Trustee or Corporate Consulting BoardProactive in managing and developing marketing initiatives and identify opportunities for new business, assisting in new business tenders and pitchesWe would love to hear from you if you have:Qualified actuary - Fellowship Actuarial Qualifications FIA / FAA or equivalentDB Pension experienceDemonstrated experience leading a team and excellent people management skillsGood IT skillsProject management and time management skillsExcellent communication skills and good networking skillsAbility to take forward new ideasA willingness to communicate and pass on knowledge and develop junior members of the teamWhat's in it for you:Competitive discretionary annual bonus.Core benefits paid for by BW including life assurance, group income protection, private medical cover and 25 days holiday per year with holiday trading.A generous pension scheme where we contribute 8% of your salary from day one of your employment.Employee Assistance Programme to support you and your family through any concerns or challenges you may experience.A comprehensive range of voluntary benefits to suit your life stage and lifestyle including a tech scheme, cycle to work scheme, dental cover, healthcare cash plan, health assessments, critical illness cover, extension of private medical cover or life assurance to family members, gym membership, travel insurance and a broad range of discounts at hundreds of retailers including supermarkets, fitness centres, travel and leisure companies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
