Demand Planner – Engineering / Manufacturing
Location: Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey
Salary: £42,000–£48,000 (dependent on experience)
A global technology manufacturer is seeking a Demand Planner to join their operations team in Sunbury-on-Thames. This position will suit an analytical and commercially aware professional who enjoys working with cross-functional teams to align demand, capacity, and strategic growth plans.
As a Demand Planner, you will be central to the company’s Sales and Operations Planning process, driving validated demand forecasts, supporting bids for new technology, and helping senior leaders make data-driven decisions that improve on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the monthly Demand Review process within the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle
* Analyse and present market and demand data to support decision-making at senior level
* Build a framework to capture and validate demand across business units
* Collaborate with Business Development, Engineering, and Project Management to deliver timely and accurate bid responses
* Forecast resource requirements and staffing levels for new product development projects
* Maintain demand KPIs, including forecast accuracy and business exposure to risk
* Provide “what if” and scenario planning support to Production and Operations
* Manage Original Equipment demand profiles in the ERP system (Navision)
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a planning, forecasting, or scheduling role
* Strong data analysis and presentation skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Sound understanding of S&OP, master scheduling, and production planning
* Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
* Indirect leadership ability – able to influence across departments
