The London division focuses on Reinforcement Learning, Bayesian Optimisation, and AI-based Agent Systems. The international collective covers Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Optimisation, and Optimal Control. The team has a strong publication record in top ML/CS journals and conferences and has won several awards.Job SummaryLarge Language Models (LLMs) demonstrate reasoning abilities across tasks. The role focuses on academic and applied research in AI Agents, exploring LLM-based decision-making, planning, reasoning, memory, reflection, tool-use, and communication. The long-term goal is to utilise LLM-based AI Agents for decision-making and reasoning.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out literature reviews and investigate state-of-the-art AI Agent frameworks and models.Address important challenges and conduct cutting-edge research in LLM-based AI Agents.Build benchmarks/baselines using public datasets.Finetune LLMs on novel, practical tasks.Model evaluation and refinement.Publish research papers at top-tier NLP/ML/AI conferences and journals.RequirementsPublications in top-tier NLP/AI/ML conferences and top-tier journals as the first author.Creative and innovative with ability to translate ideas into prototypes, optimise costs, and drive implementation.Excellent knowledge of existing LLMs and AI Agents.Result-driven with good communication skills; able to work in a multicultural, multi-site, multi-language environment.Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.Focused, proactive, and motivated; able to work autonomously or as part of a team of researchers and technical experts.Broad knowledge, versatile, hands-on, and capable of generating new ideas and innovations.Preferred qualificationsA PhD in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, or related areas with a focus on LLMs and AI Agents.Strong research track record with publications in top NLP/AI/ML venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, EACL).Excellent knowledge of LangChain, Auto-GPT, RL, MAS (desirable).How to applyIf you wish to apply for this position and believe your experience and skills are suitable, please email a copy of your CV and cover letter to lili.yin@huawei.com #J-18808-Ljbffr
