Driver Handler – OverviewAs a Driver Handler, you'll be a vital part of our aviation operations, supporting flying activity and ensuring safe, efficient ground logistics. From transporting personnel to preparing aircraft for flight, your work will directly contribute to the success of military aviation missions. This is a hands on role where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to grow. Day-to-day, you'll be reporting to the Senior Driver and ensure the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks as required.Driving a range of vehicles to transport students and senior stakeholdersSupporting flight-line operations including aircraft movement and refuellingConducting vehicle checks and ensuring compliance with DVSA and RAF regulationsManaging transport documentation and maintaining personal driving certificationsCollaborating with ground crews to ensure readiness for daily flying operationsThis role is full time, 40 hours per week over 4 days and is based on site at RAF Leeming.Essential Experience of the Driver HandlerClean driving licencePractical and theoretical understanding of transport operationsKnowledge of RAF, DVSA, and Dangerous Goods regulationsFamiliarity with transport and driver legal requirementsQualifications for the Driver HandlerPSV, LGV, and ADR qualified (candidates without all licences may still be considered)Must meet CP2/CP3 colour vision standards for airside operationsSecurity ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.At Babcock, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together.
