Senior Stress EngineerCertain Advantage are hiring on behalf of our globally renowned Engineering client for Stress Engineers to support on Nuclear (potentially defence) projects.This will involve working onsite in Derby for 3 days per week.You’ll join a dedicated team of Stress professionals working under the Team Lead to provide integrity substantiation using Finite Element method and / or Code assessment.You’ll be required to assist in calculation reviews, modelling while also adhering to the quality system. You’ll also likely be required to assist in proposal writing and other related bidding activitiesCandidate experience soughtNuclear industry experience (defence) preferable, but transferable skills from other disciplines acceptedDemonstrable expertise in fatigue, fracture, thermal, and structural stress assessments using finite element analysisFinite Element analysis in ABAQUS (explicit / implicit)ABAQUS / CAE or equivalent pre / post (desirable)Code assessment to ASME B&PVC and R6; RCC-M a plusKnowledge of structural integrity & defect tolerance assessmentsPython scripting in ABAQUS environment desirableCRACKEN or alternative fracture assessment experienceFatigue crack growth & initiation experience desirableFamiliar with Gated review processWorking with Certain AdvantageWe go the extra mile to find the best people for the job.
