Analyst – Acoustics, Sonar, Physics (All Levels) Ultra Maritime is seeking a motivated Analyst to help advance our cutting‑edge maritime and underwater warfare capabilities. The role involves analysis of sonar systems, modelling, and support of sea trials in a continuous improvement environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct in‑depth analysis of sonar systems using established methodologies. Develop performance models and analyses collaboratively with design teams, aligning with customer specifications. Model performance across realistic underwater acoustic conditions and evaluate sonar performance against customer requirements. Use modelling and simulation to guide product decisions and refine concepts of operation, quantifying the impact of sonar system design decisions on performance. Assist in the execution of sea trials, analysing trial data against system performance requirements. Produce comprehensive reports on trial data analysis, drawing clear conclusions about trial success and system performance. Regularly report progress to project and product development teams. Provide expertise during design reviews and customer presentations. Skills, Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar STEM field (higher degree preferred). Experience in sonar or related domain, including signal processing, detection, classification, localisation, machine learning/AI, performance prediction, trials data analysis, finite element analysis, transducer design. Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex topics clearly to expert and non‑expert audiences. Proficiency with mathematical and scientific modelling tools (Python, MATLAB). Proven ability to set and meet deadlines effectively. Existing or attainable security clearance (SC). Benefits on Offer Optional 9‑day fortnight and TOIL.
