Roles and Responsibilities Inclusive Curriculum: Design, plan, and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that actively incorporate strategies for EAL learners and pupils with SEN. Assessment Moderation: Participate fully in internal and external assessment moderation cycles, ensuring accurate and consistent teacher assessments (particularly for KS1 SATs). Community Projects: Lead and coordinate cross:curricular projects or school events that celebrate pupil diversity and integrate local community resources. Well:being Focus: Act as the primary advocate for pupil well:being, liaising with school leaders and external agencies (e.g., CAMHS, social services) as necessary. Team Leadership: Provide clear, timely direction and ongoing informal training to the assigned Teaching Assistants within the classroom. Target Setting: Set ambitious yet realistic learning targets, clearly communicating progress and next steps to pupils and their families. Requirements Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Experience: Recent, successful experience teaching a Key Stage 1 class (Year 1 or Year 2) in a diverse urban setting. Skills: Demonstrable knowledge of effective EAL teaching methodologies and phonics instruction (e.g., Read Write Inc.). Interpersonal: Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills required for working effectively with a multicultural parent body.
