This is a unique opportunity to lead a committed and experienced team, improving outcomes for residents and supporting integration across health and social care. About the Role As Director, you will be part of a stable Directorate Leadership Team and lead adult safeguarding, quality improvement, and service transformation. You will work closely with the Chief Executive, Executive Mayor, and the Tower Hamlets Together Partnership, as well as the North East London Integrated Care Board (NEL ICB), to deliver joined‑up, effective services for local residents. You will provide visible, collaborative leadership, champion innovation, and ensure the service is ready for inspection and CQC assurance following a successful ADASS peer review. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership across all aspects of adult social care and safeguarding. Drive transformation and improvement initiatives, focusing on outcomes for residents. Integrate health and social care services through partnership working. Manage significant budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and delivery of savings plans. Lead by example, championing diversity, equity, and anti‑racist practice across the workforce. Support and engage staff, promoting a culture based on Tower Hamlets values: Together, Open, Willing, Excellence, Respect. About You Qualified social worker or senior leader with experience at a Director or Assistant Director level in adult social care. Proven experience leading adult social care services in a complex environment. Strong knowledge of adult safeguarding, statutory frameworks, and CQC readiness. Experience driving transformation and delivering measurable improvements. Excellent leadership, communication, and partnership skills.
