Network Architect ← Winnersh – Infosys Role – Senior Technology Architect Technology: Networking Location: Winnersh, UK Job Description Responsible for designing and implementing network architecture for access and aggregation networks, ensuring performance, security, and scalability. Work with OEMs, OSS teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business and technical requirements. Responsibilities Create high‑level architecture & impact assessment for new technologies. Work with the network access team to develop specific architecture/designs as required. Create environments and participate in Proof of Concepts to validate the architecture. Translate architecture to high‑level network design for HFC & fiber‑based access networks (DOCSIS/PON). Work with OEM vendors to provide solutions and review test results. Participate in field trials and support first roll‑out. Troubleshoot existing network designs. Analyze and optimize existing network solutions. Perform performance optimization and ensure network performance. Incorporate security measures in existing/new designs (handle security threats at design). Interact with stakeholders (employees, vendors, customers) about requirements and issues. Guide and mentor team members on tasks and ensure all requirements are covered in the design. Virtualize CCAP and create observability framework. Create architecture and design for a converged aggregation network in Layer‑2, SR‑MPLS and SRv6. Work with OSS teams to integrate network elements into provisioning systems. Devise observability framework and telemetry collection for access networks and integrate it with data lakes. Integrate with automation/orchestration architectures. Required Skills Extensive experience in DOCSIS & PON technologies. Strong knowledge of HFC and fiber‑based access network architecture. Well versed in DOCSIS specifications. Strong knowledge of PON technology standards. Experience guiding teams to implement new design/architecture. Strong knowledge of networking standards (TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, MPLS, Segment Routing, traffic engineering, EVPN, IPoWDM, timing protocols and multicast protocols). Strong knowledge of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, RPD, CMTS, CM, ONT, ONU, OLT, BNG, RADIUS, etc.). Strong knowledge of network virtualization, SR‑IOV, DPDK. Experience in network security design. Experience with Unix/Linux operating system and commands. Hands‑on experience creating design and architecture documents for networks. Good understanding of triple‑play services and B2B services for telco. Experience with telemetry standards & interactions with data lakes (gNMI, YANG, SNMPv3c, Telegraph, etc.). Experience with orchestration and autonomous networks (NETCONF, YANG, SDN controller, closed‑loop assurance). Experience integrating network elements to OSS. Preferred Experience with passive access technologies (cabinet, amplifiers, fiber nodes, etc.). Experience with various modulation technologies (QPSK, QAM, OFDM, OFDMA). Experience with profile management application (PMA). Experience with proactive network maintenance (PNM). Knowledge of IP/MPLS, BNG & CPE. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
