Lead Electrician – Net Zero Evolution – Renewable Energy & Clean Technology Talent Solutions Full-time, Permanent A long-established, MCS-certified renewable energy and electrical services business is seeking a Lead Electrician to take ownership of all electrical work and certification as they continue to grow. With 14+ years in operation and a strong pipeline across heat pumps, solar PV, EV charging and general electrical projects, the business is now bringing its electrical capability fully in-house. This is a career-defining opportunity to step into a senior, trusted role where you’ll lead the electrical function, shape how the division grows, and work closely with the wider operations team. Why This Role Stands Out: No regular overnight stays – work stays local (typically within 1–1.5 hours of Nottingham) 9‑day fortnight OR Friday afternoons off Quality‑over‑quantity culture – low stress, no micromanagement Clear progression – lead the electrical side and mentor an apprentice Stable, long‑standing business with strong demand and repeat customers Key Responsibilities Installing and commissioning electrical systems, includingHeat pumpsEV chargersGeneral domestic and light commercial electrical work Testing, inspecting and certifying all electrical work (acting as sign‑off lead) Supporting the expansion of general electrical contracting, such asNew‑build electrical servicesElectrical upgradesAdditional residential and light commercial work Collaborating with the renewables and heating teams Mentoring the apprentice electrician and helping shape the future of the department About You Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Experience with solar PV, EV installations or heat pumps Strong domestic or commercial experience Able to carry out inspection, testing and certification (2391 or equivalent preferred) High professional standards, reliability, and strong communication Experience supervising or mentoring others Interest in helping grow a technical division Salary & Benefits 9‑day fortnight (every other Friday off) OR Friday afternoons off 20 days holiday + Christmas Eve + New Year’s Eve Company pension Local working area – minimal travel, no regular nights away Supportive, family‑feel culture How to Apply To apply—or just to have a confidential conversation—get in touch.
