About the role The primary specialty for a Housekeeper is to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control are met at all times. The Housekeeping role at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and staff. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring that all areas are cleaned to national standards, delivering meal and beverage services, making beds, cleaning medical and hard equipment, managing linen quality, and reporting maintenance issues. To excel in this role, you need to have a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills are also important, as you will be working closely with clinical colleagues to support patient care. Deliver meal services. Make beds and clean medical/hard equipment. Manage linen quality and report maintenance issues. Undertake scheduled cleaning tasks, including the cleaning of clinical equipment. Uphold all infection prevention and control measures. Ensure that all domestic consumables are available at all times in the appropriate dispenser/holder. Undertake ad hoc cleaning tasks as required by the Facilities Supervisor - Housekeeping or nursing staff. The salary range quoted is as per NHS Agenda for Change pay structures where applicable. This is based on the number of years' working directly within the NHS at the advertised pay band. Experience gained with other NHS Trusts will apply, but candidates without prior experience working directly for the NHS would normally be appointed at the lowest point unless they can demonstrate the equivalent experience and then be eligible for incremental increases in future years. Medical and Very Senior Manager roles are exempt from agenda for change and subject to alternative remuneration structures. Qualifications & Skills Successful applicants for clinical posts up to and including Band 4 are expected to hold the national Care Certificate qualification and will be supported to attain this once in post.
