Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Pig Stockperson to join our friendly and professional team in Ollerton. In this hands-on role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining excellent standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and overall farm productivity. Full training is provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
*
Daily care of pigs, including feeding, moving, serving, treating, vaccinating, and general handling.
*
Maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare in line with Company policies, RSPCA Assured Standards, and the Five Freedoms.
*
Following all Company Policies and procedures consistently.
*
Safely operating farm machinery and equipment (training and qualifications provided as required).
*
Reporting any site damage promptly to the Line Manager.
*
Upholding strong biosecurity and site security standards, ensuring all buildings and gates are secure.
*
Using consumables such as feed and medicines responsibly and correctly.
*
Participating in both on-farm and classroom-based training sessions.
*
Keeping all areas of the unit clean, tidy, and presentable.
*
Working closely with colleagues to meet performance targets and maintain a positive team environment.
*
Assisting with weekend and holiday cover when necessary.
*
Completing any additional tasks relevant to the role as directed by management.
Requirements & Person Specification
*
Experience with livestock or within agriculture is beneficial but not essential – full training will be provided.
*
Strong ability to prioritise tasks and work accurately to deadlines.
*
Excellent attention to detail.
*
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
*
Good communication skills.
*
Full UK driving licence or motorcycle licence is essential.
