Position Overview The Associate Vice President (AVP), Marine Technical Procurement is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the global procurement of marine technical equipment, parts, and services. This strategic position involves leading a diverse team of procurement professionals, collaborating closely with our Global Marine Operations (GMO), New‑building and Finance functions. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of the maritime industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to lead a team of procurement professionals. Responsibilities Lead and develop a high‑performing global Marine Technical Procurement team. Formulate and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and enhance service levels. Work closely with GMO, New‑building and Refurbishment to understand technical requirements and operational priorities. Act as a key point of contact for technical procurement needs, ensuring timely and efficient sourcing of marine equipment and spare parts. Oversee the end‑to‑end procurement process for marine technical assets and services, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance management. Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and best in class pricing. Ensure procurement activities comply with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Manage the procurement budget and ensure cost‑control measures are in place. Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor team performance and procurement effectiveness. Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and sustainable practices in marine procurement. Promote the adoption of digital tools and data analytics to enhance procurement decision‑making. Knowledge & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in marine technical procurement, supply chain management, New‑buildings or related roles, with demonstrated leadership of global teams. Strong understanding of marine industry standards, regulations, and technical specifications. Proven track record in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cost optimization. Excellent stakeholder engagement, strong negotiation- and communication skills. Ability to lead cross‑cultural and remote teams effectively. Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools. Financial Responsibilities Strategic thinker with a proactive approach. Strong leadership and team development skills.
