Shock and Vibration Subject Matter Expert Join to apply for the Shock and Vibration Subject Matter Expert role at Quest Global. We are seeking an experienced Shock and Vibration Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our UK Defence business ensuring the equipment complies with the Shock and Vibration requirements on a critical UK Submarine project. The role will review supplier Shock and Vibration qualification documents for completeness and compliance with the Data Item Description (DID), which form the body of compliance evidence. These documents include: Interface and Installation Guidance Information Design Review Information Test Plan Test Schedules Test Report Shock and Vibration Analysis Documents (FEAs, stress calculations, etc.) Resolution of Shock and Vibration related design issues Coordination with client and third‑party stakeholders to resolve or manage physical integration and develop design solutions. Performing Engineering Analysis and producing drawings as required The documents are used to verify compliance with defence shock and vibration standards, including DEF STAN 00‑035. The role may also need to conduct a risk‑based impact analysis of non‑compliance. Role Requirements Experience with Shock and Vibration testing to military standards Experience designing equipment to meet military Shock and Vibration standards Experience conducting Shock and Vibration analysis using FEA or similar methods Good understanding of defence certification, qualification and testing methods and methodologies Work Experience Experience working in a defence environment Preferably experience in the Marine sector Respected Shock and Vibration expert with broad experience Good knowledge of best practice design principles for mechanical and electronic systems to meet Shock and Vibration requirements Knowledge of Environmental Qualification Standards (Def Stan 08‑123, MAP 01‑470, Def Stan 00‑35) Company Overview At Quest Global, it’s not just what we do but how and why we do it that makes us different.
