Info about what the Head of Product Engineering role entails

* Lead and Develop Engineering Teams: Recruit, lead, and mentor multi-disciplinary engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

* Oversee Product Engineering Lifecycle: Manage the entire product design and development process from concept to production, ensuring quality and compliance.

* Enable Scalable Product Development: Design for efficient manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance, collaborating with production and supply chain teams.

* Drive Innovation and IP Development: Lead new technology and product enhancements, translating market needs into solutions and protecting intellectual property.

* Support Project Delivery & Client Relations: Provide technical leadership for client projects, act as the primary technical interface, and troubleshoot issues.

* Implement Engineering Tools & Systems: Deploy and manage advanced design tools and data systems, driving continuous improvement in processes.

Essential Requirements of a Head of Product Engineering

* Proven leader in developing complex, high-integrity engineered products.

* Expertise in electro-mechanical systems, structural design, control systems, and hydraulics.

* Experienced in delivering solutions within highly regulated sectors (Defence, Nuclear, Aerospace).

* Full lifecycle product development from concept through to certification and production.

* Adept in engineering standards and regulatory codes

* Proficient with modern CAD, PLM, and simulation tools (FEA, CFD).

* Skilled in establishing robust engineering governance (design reviews, change control, risk management).

* Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.

* Degree-qualified Engineer (CEng preferred) in a relevant discipline.

* Eligible for UK SC clearance and international travel.

* Base salary £90,000 - £100,000 per annum
