Product Documentation Writer (12-Month FTC) Join RealVNC as a Product Documentation Writer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. RealVNC® is a remote‑access platform for engineers, built by the creators of VNC® technology. Our software is used by hundreds of millions worldwide, including IT professionals at companies such as Intel, IBM, NASA, Shell, DreamWorks and Philips. VNC Connect allows users to connect securely to a remote device anywhere in the world, view its screen in real time, and take control as if they were sitting in front of it. The product is used across a wide range of use cases, from remote support to deploying software on medical ventilators, set‑top boxes, heavy industrial machinery and more. We are backed by private‑equity firm Livingbridge and have ambitious growth plans. Position We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Product Documentation Writer. In this role you will create clear, accurate, and user‑friendly documentation for our Remote Access product, translating technical concepts into accessible content for customers, internal teams, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop high‑quality product documentation, including user guides, API references, release notes, FAQs, and onboarding materials using traditional methods and modern AI tooling. Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, UX Designers, and Customer Success to gather information and ensure documentation reflects the latest product capabilities. Maintain a consistent tone, style, and structure across all documentation, adhering to brand and accessibility guidelines. Prepare documentation for new features and releases, ensuring timely delivery aligned with product launch timelines. Identify gaps, propose improvements, and implement best practices for documentation workflows and tools, especially the use of AI to expedite content generation and improve quality. Create content that enables self‑service, reducing support tickets by helping customers find answers quickly. Write AI‑ready content that can be consumed by LLMs and other AI, keeping RealVNC documentation relevant. Requirements 3‑5 years of experience in technical writing or documentation roles in a technology company. Experience communicating with enterprise‑level customers. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with GenAI, LLMs and other AI content generation tools. Excellent stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders. Experience working within a SaaS company (desirable). Experience using Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) (desirable). Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
