Private Housekeeper

For a returning client and lovely HNW family we are looking for an experienced Housekeeper (preferably live-out, but also live-in with separate accommodation) to work as part of a team to maintain their stunning property, in Knutsford. Driver essential. No weekend work required. The historic house was recently fully modernized incl. home automation, rich in original features throughout with 6 en-suite bedrooms spreading over several floors. The Owners are a British family who use the property as their permanent home, bar travel during some of the school holidays. Other staff consist of the House Manager, another Housekeeper, a Houseman/ Maintenance man, a chef, one gardener and housekeeping agency staff. Help is provided from contractors (window cleaning, car valeting, extra gardeners, etc.) when required. The household is run relaxed and informal and the role reports directly to the House Manager. The Housekeeper´s role is a routine focused role with daily, weekly and monthly tasks as well as ad-hoc duties, which require a degree of flexibility. The housekeeper works alongside the House Manager to plan and prioritise areas while considering the family´s movement and needs in choosing which rooms to cover. Duties of the Housekeeper All housekeeping duties incl. mopping, vacuuming polishing, dusting and wiping to ensure property is kept to high standards Care and cleaning of specialist furniture and items Changing and making of beds Overseeing all laundry incl. laundering, ironing (bedding is outsourced) Organizing linen stock room and wardrobes Ensuring bedrooms/ bathrooms are kept tidy and clean Turning around high-usage areas (emptying/reloading dishwashers, resetting machines, checking of bins etc.) Assisting with cleaning kitchen areas, if required Planning and carrying out deep cleans with the House Manager Liaising with contractors, workmen or visitors Managing stocks (removing out of date items) Receiving parcels Keeping levels of cleaning and toiletry supplies full (incl. eco-friendly products) Working with the team to ensure the security of the property Running errands Requirements of the Housekeeper role Must be legal to work in the UK (either a UK passport or UK Pre/ Settled Status) Must have a min. of 3-5 years experience working within a private household Fluency in English Clean driver’s license Must be experienced and comfortable with home technology / automation lights/ automation system, modern kitchen appliances, coffee machines etc. Excellent knowledge of high end housekeeping and cleaning of special materials (wood, marble, etc.) Must have good level of computer literacy (housekeeping calendar, emails, online ordering) Be able to work as part of a team and be flexible (re. task management) Experienced in dealing with fine linens (silks, cashmere etc.) Written references from past employers An up to date DBS/ security check (to be obtained if not available) The family is seeking a Housekeeper who fits in well within the team and the relaxed harmonious friendly yet is professional, working in an environment they so enjoy. The role requires a housekeeper who is hard working, adaptable, friendly and able to be led or work on their own with a positive attitude. Accommodation For a short paid trial accommodation will be provided, Airbnb/ hotel locally, if needed as well as transport. If required, accommodation is a locally rented one bedroom apartment. If accommodation is not required, candidates should live within a commutable distance, which is a strong preference. Hours Mon – Fri, 8am – 4pm (core working hours with occasional flexibility, time in lieu given). No weekend work required. 1 hr for lunch with lunch supplies provided.
