The Opportunity
Are you seeking a role with a company dedicated to unravelling the intricacies of disease pathology at the single-cell level and developing pioneering new therapies for human disease? Are you passionate about applying cutting-edge technologies and being a member of a multidisciplinary, international team?
We are in search of a self-motivated and skilled Senior Scientist to join us at our Cambridge, UK site. As an integral member of our Target Biology team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our target and therapeutics discovery initiatives. Your responsibilities will include utilizing state-of-the-art single-cell technologies, in vitro cell models, and using a deep understanding of immunology to identify and validate novel drug targets and develop mechanism-based cell assays for drug discovery.
What this role will Involve
- Leveraging your deep understanding of immunology, you will develop and utilize cell models to elucidate and validate therapeutic targets and therapeutic mechanisms of action.
- Your primary tasks will involve designing and conducting experiments to elucidate the functions of key disease cell types using primary human tissue and cells, devising and executing in vitro cell models, conducting perturbation experiments to identify high-quality drug targets and testing biologic therapeutics in complex cell models.
- You will collaborate closely with experts in single-cell and spatial genomics, antibody experts, as well as AI/ML computational scientists. Our collective aim is to pioneer innovative therapies for autoimmune, inflammatory, and fibrotic diseases.

What we expect from you
- A PhD and extensive demonstrable experience in immunology.
- A postdoctoral fellowship and/or experience in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical setting.
- A strong record of publication in academic journals.
- Hands-on experience with developing and executing in vitro cell-based assays, especially with human cells, including flow cytometry.
- Demonstrable experience in macrophage, T cell, or B cell biology will be an advantage.
- Experience with single cell and spatial biology and next generation sequencing technologies would be an advantage.
- Proven ability to design experiments, troubleshoot, interpret and present the data.
- Collaborative, resourceful, entrepreneurial spirit, and enjoys working in a fast-paced and creative environment.
