With us , you have the opportunity to work on globally significant projects, both locally and internationally, while collaborating with leading professionals in the maritime sector.What You Do As a Senior Maritime Civil EngineerYour role will involve utilising your technical and practical experience to develop engineering design solutions for maritime civil engineering structures in ports and shipyards, utilising materials such as steel, concrete, and timber in accordance with relevant design codes. You will contribute to all project stages, from inception through design and construction to demolition, recycling, and reuse. Your technical and commercial experience, along with your ability to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams, will be vital to the success of the projects you work on. Additionally, you will have the autonomy and responsibility to work on projects that interest you and produce proposals while working directly with our clients.Furthermore, you will:Collect and collate design dataCarry out inspections and surveysProduce design calculations, check and review calculations produced by othersProduce outline models, drawings, and details for CAD (in Revit environment if possible); check and review these before issuePrepare draft Bills of Quantities, Contract Documents, and SpecificationsPrepare reports and presentations.Undertake structural analyses and reporting.Provide engineering judgement and advice; contribute to preparation of study reportsIn addition to the above, you will have the opportunity to manage and direct junior staff, as well as coach them in technical matters.Where you will workWe are an independent, employee-owned consulting engineering company. You have professional experience in planning and designing maritime structures and are familiar with international maritime and structural engineering standards and manuals. You are willing to travel occasionally throughout the UK and overseas.Essential:An educational background in Civil/Structural Engineering (BSc, Beng, MSc, CEngMice or CEng MiStructE)Professional experience in planning and design of maritime structuresFamiliarity with international maritime and structural engineering standards, manuals, and other relevant guidelines.Desirable:At least 5 years of experienceKnowledge/Experience of working at BIM Level 2Maritime-specific civil engineering experience will be an advantageAwareness of industry procedures and best practiceDemonstrable experience in applying technology to improve productivityExcellent technical track recordWhat we offer youWe offer a stimulating environment where people come first and you are empowered to craft your own career path.
