Are you passionate about supporting individual children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEND in a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school on a long‑term basis. Location: Birmingham and Surrounding AreasPosition: 1:1 SEND Teaching AssistantType of Work: One-to-one support for a child with SEND within a mainstream primary classroomContract/Position Start Date: ASAP – SeptDuration: OngoingContract Type: Long‑term (potential to go permanent)Full Time/Part Time: Full timeMinimum Rate of Pay: NegotiableHours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday (term time only) The Role Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with specific SEND needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties) Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit the child’s individual needs Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development Maintain accurate records of progress and share feedback with the wider team Contribute to a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment The Ideal Candidate Have previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting (essential) Have experience in a 1:1 role or similar (preferred) Hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in education or childcare (essential) Be calm, compassionate, and proactive in supporting additional needs Communicate effectively with colleagues, children, and families Hold an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one) Requirements to Work with Prospero Teaching Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold a valid, enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one) Provide two child‑related professional references covering the last two years To Apply If you would like to learn more or discuss the role further, please contact the Birmingham office on (phone number removed).
