As a Secure Facilities Operations Specialist you'll serve as the strategic owner of AWS facilities that are critical to region operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring continuous facility availability, developing long-term capacity planning, and maintaining the highest standards of security and operational excellence.If you join us, you'll be part of a world-class team in a dynamic environment that has the entrepreneurial feel of a start-up. You'll be surrounded by people who are passionate about cloud computing, believe that first class service is critical to customer success, and are committed to improvement.Key job responsibilities include:Manage Facilities budget, purchasing, and strategic resource allocationCoordinate facility improvements and maintenance schedulingOversee site planning, seating allocation, and facility utilisation reportingDevelop and maintain power event procedures and operational runbooksDrive security standards and site parity across facilitiesDevelop long-term capacity roadmap with 10-year horizonManage strategic infrastructure upgradesBuild and maintain relationships with key stakeholdersA day in the life: You'll start your day reviewing facility operations status and coordinating with various stakeholders. You might attend meetings with our global facilities team to plan maintenance schedules, work with Security teams to ensure compliance, or develop strategic plans for facility improvements. You'll manage seating allocations and respond to facility-related inquiries. You'll also spend time analysing capacity metrics and working on long-term planning initiatives.About AWS: AWS values diverse experiences. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experienceExperience in facilities management or related fieldExperience with budget management and financial planningStrong project management skillsExperience with security protocols and compliance requirementsPreferred Qualifications:Experience managing secure facilities or data centersKnowledge of facility operations, maintenance, and infrastructure systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with capacity planning and strategic facility managementExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsKnowledge of process improvement methodologies (Agile, Lean, Kaizen)Experience developing and implementing KPIs for facility operationsBackground in managing vendor relationships and service contractsAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
