This role supports field design activities for the piping discipline and involves working with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality, on-time solutions. About The Opportunity Energy Programmes is one of our newest Business Units, formed to support positive change and shape the future of Nuclear Power. Our teams provide support to major projects, including developments at Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, and advancements in SMR capability. We work in both client-facing and internal roles to deliver project management capabilities across the lifecycle, aiming for safe, high-quality, timely solutions through innovative, collaborative work. Responsibilities Gather input data Engage with stakeholders (installation contractors, CW interfaces, other disciplines) to clarify issues Produce site request technical assessments (RFI, FCR, NCR) related to piping, support, and anchorage design issues Contribute to other teams (Layout, Transverse, etc.) by providing piping assessments or guidance as required Perform hand calculations and run anchorage macros to assess modification feasibility Propose appropriate and proportionate modifications if sizing criteria are not met Close open points and comments Assess and integrate modifications from stakeholders after packages are handed over to JDO Work with CAD designers/detailers in preparing design drawings Qualifications Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Minimum 3 years in Piping Mechanical Design, nuclear industry, or equivalent experience Knowledge of EUROCODE, ASME, RCC-M codes, and piping sequence from detailed design to commissioning Knowledge of 2D/3D design software, ideally PDMS, Navisworks, Pipe Stress, RSTAB, ANSYS APDL and Workbench Our Culture Our values are founded on safety, integrity, and respect for every individual.
