We are Little Gems Country Dining, a small intimate group of four pubs. We pride ourselves on doing the simple things really well and keeping our focus on the staff and guests. The Old Queens Head is a delightful country pub & restaurant that’s full of charm, character and plenty of friendly faces. We even have treats (doggy biscuits) in at the ready We have a stylish but cosy, two-level dining room, a relaxed and informal bar area with a roaring log fire for the chilly months, and our lovely garden and terrace overlooking the village church is the perfect spot for those warmer days when the sun comes out to play. Everything on our menus is freshly made in our kitchen, including our ice creams and tasty chutney. Our dishes change in line with the seasons and are made using the best local produce that we can get our hands on. Your role as Chef de Partie We are looking for a Chef de Partie who is highly self-motivated, has a great attitude to learning and is committed to delivering exceptional standards of food, cleanliness and hygiene. You will be an ambitious individual, always looking for ways to build on your own experience and who always strives for the perfect end result. Your main duties as Chef de Partie involve Accountable for food safety and hygiene within the specified kitchen areas Training and coaching junior kitchen staff and ensuring all team members are aware of how food is stored, rotated and disposed of Input to menu development as required Prepare fresh foods to an exemplary standard on a daily basis Be responsible for achieving the food margin through portion control and management of raw ingredients Stocking shelves and ensuring stock is securely stored at the correct temperature and correctly rotated Ensure that all health & safety directives are followed in the preparation of food What we are looking for Minimum 1 years’ experience in a professional kitchen environment A passion for fresh food is a must A methodical, calm and organised approach to work whilst working under pressure Precise planning and organisation ability Ability to give and receive fair feedback where appropriate Your development We consistently strive to give individuals the opportunity to use their existing skills and building new ones. We will invest time coaching and developing you in-house and training. We like to see our people develop and ultimately, as a company, we like to promote from within. This is a role that will set you in good stead for a future role as a Junior Sous Chef.
