Software Engineer II, Data Platform, Google Play Join to apply for the Software Engineer II, Data Platform, Google Play role at Google. Google’s software engineers develop next‑generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. For this role, you will work on data platform projects within the Google Play ecosystem, building large‑scale data pipelines, infrastructure, and services that support Play Console and beyond. You’ll collaborate across teams, iterate rapidly on new features, and apply modern tools such as Gemini for AI‑enhanced development and analysis. Responsibilities Provide fantastic reporting for Play Developers. Create infrastructure used by other teams in Play Console and beyond. Make use of Gemini and other AI tools for development, analysis, and tactical deployment in new features. Work on features across the stack—data pipelines for foundational metrics, core platform components, UI configuration, and production monitoring systems. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript). 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms. Preferred Qualifications Experience with large‑scale data pipelines (e.g., Flume, Apache Spark). Experience in data analysis or data science/analytics.
