Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Band 7 Ward Manager – Larimar The closing date is 14 December 2025 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager on Larimar Female Ward. The successful candidate should be a qualified Registered Nurse (RMN) and have significant experience at Band 6 or above within an Acute or PICU setting. Main duties of the job The candidate should be able to participate with the multidisciplinary team and undertake direct involvement in patient care. You will also be expected to be able to manage and direct the delivery of clinical services within the unit, ensuring it complies with statutory regulations, current legislation and meets the quality standards. The candidate must have proven leadership skills and clinical excellence as you will need to provide leadership and mentoring and will act as a positive role model for junior staff in a manner that positively reflects the philosophy of the service and the values of the organisation. You will be responsible for managing, directing and leading the nursing team. In your role you will receive support and supervision from the Clinical Nurse Manager to develop your practice further. Person Specification Qualifications Achieved Grade Leadership and Management qualification NMC Registration Achieved Grade Mental Health Experience Extensive experience of working in mental health with approximately 12–18 months experience of leadership/management 2 years in a management role Leadership & Management Achieved Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
