We are looking for recent psychology graduates who are passionate about working in mental health services, are curious, supportive and eager to learn. This year we are offering three part‑time, paid placements, each lasting 6 months, to provide valuable clinical experience and help participants progress toward their career goals. Enfield Integrated Learning Disabilities Service (EILDS) St. Ann's Eating Disorder Service (SAEDS) Unplanned Care (inpatient wards and/or Same‑Day Emergency Services) Job Responsibilities Provide care equitably to all service users with an anti‑discriminatory approach, promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. Undertake protocol‑based psychological assessments, including self‑report measures, rating scales, structured observations and semi‑structured interviews. Assist in formulating and delivering care plans involving psychological treatment and/or management of clients’ problems. Assist in developing, coordinating and running therapeutic groups. Work with other staff to assess service‑user care and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings. Develop a psychologically based framework for understanding and caring for all clients across all settings. Support clinicians with clinical‑related administration, audit, outcomes measurement, research projects and other projects as agreed with the supervisor. Intention to train as a clinical psychologist in the future. Must not have a paid post or be a postgraduate trainee in a university programme. Must not be studying towards or have completed a master’s degree (except conversion degree or MSci). Must not have held any previous paid Assistant Psychologist post or similar pre‑qualification psychological profession post including research posts. Eligibility Criteria – Other (Application Guidelines) Statement confirming requirements. Interest in and understanding of clinical psychology (max 100 words). Interest in improving equity of access to psychological services (max 100 words). Values or experiences showing capability to work with diverse populations (max 100 words). Qualifications – Essential Minimum of a 2:1 psychology BSc providing the Graduate Basis for Chartership of the BPS. Experience – Essential Experience supporting people with mental and/or physical health problems through employment, volunteering, lived experience, research or education. Experience supporting diverse communities. Experience – Desirable Experience of paid or unpaid direct care provision. Knowledge & Skills – Essential High‑level communication skills (written and verbal) with sensitivity and ability to work in emotive settings. Understanding of social determinants of health inequalities. Understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems. Ability to apply psychological knowledge and theories. IT skills: video calls, databases, data analysis. Knowledge & Skills – Desirable Skillful in providing psychological care in a language(s) in addition to English.
