We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and flexible Paediatric Physiotherapist with experience in paediatric Oncology to join the Paediatric Oncology physio service. This is an exciting opportunity for a part time Band 7 Paediatric Physiotherapist working into Paediatric Oncology within the Acute Paediatric Physiotherapy team. Candidates should have extensive paediatric physiotherapy experience and knowledge. NO AGENCIES PLEASE Role and responsibilities To be an active member of the appropriate speciality MDTs within the directorate and wider Trust To be responsible for own continued professional development and assist CPD of other members of the physiotherapy and multidisciplinary teams To be part of the emergency duty on-call and weekend rota and be to be available in an advisory capacity for on-call physiotherapists out of hours, when required. To provide highly specialised physiotherapy assessment and treatment to this complex patient group and their families/carers To provide a service specifically to patients with Osteosarcoma, Neuro-oncology conditions and peripheral neuropathies bridging the gap between acute and community for patients receiving ongoing treatment and adding to the existing physiotherapy provision for the unit To provide out patient physiotherapy support for these patients in clinics and on the day unit To provide an advisory service to patients, their families, physiotherapists, consultants, nursing staff and other health care professionals in tertiary and secondary care, both locally and regionally. To develop and provide specialist education and training to nursing, medical and physiotherapy staff and other members of the MDT in order to optimise each patient’s outcome.
